INL nominates Nujaifi for parliament’s speaker

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Lawmaker Osama al-Nujaifi on Monday said that his parliamentary bloc, the Iraqi National List (INL), has officially nominated him for the position of the council of representatives’ speaker. “The bloc submitted an official request to the parliament’s speakership in this regard,” al-Nujaifi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The issue of who will occupy the position will be settled this Wednesday (Jan. 14) or Saturday (Jan. 17),” he added.
