Oil workers stage protests to support Gaza

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Hundreds of oil workers in Basra staged a demonstration on Thursday in support of the Palestinians in Gaza and to condemn Israel. “The protest organized by the oil syndicates union and trade unions as well as some political powers,” the president of the oil syndicates union, Hassan Jumaa al-Asadi, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The demonstration aims at supporting Gaza and Palestinian workers,” he added noting that the protesters set the Israeli flag on fire and chanted slogans against the Arab rulers. “We demanded the Arab rulers to stop dealing with Israel and to provide urgent aids to Palestinians,” he also said.
