Talabani takes up agro-development with minister

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed with Agriculture Minister Ali al-Bahadli means to develop the agricultural sector, according to a presidential statement on Friday. “Talabani received at his residence in Baghdad on Thursday (Jan. 15) the Iraqi agriculture minister Bahadli to consider ways to enhance this vital sector and lay down policies to develop it,” read the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Bahadli briefed Talabani on the course of work in the agriculture ministry and successes attained in animal husbandry and experiments of palm trees, production of dates and increasing the production of the rice crop,” it added.
