Dangerous wanted man captured in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Policemen captured a dangerous wanted man on charges of committing murders, kidnapping and robbery southeastern al-Amara city on Sunday, an official source in the Missan police department said. “Personnel from the 10th Emergency Contingent on Sunday (Jan. 18) arrested a dangerous man wanted by security authorities for committing nine murders, kidnapping and robbery in al-Kahlaa district, (18 km) southeastern Amara,” Col. Sadeq Sallam, the Missan police relations & media department director, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrest was made based on intelligence tip-offs about his presence in a river area in al-Kahlaa,” Sallam said, not giving more information. The 10th Emergency Contingent was set recently in al-Kahlaa district to maintain order and law in al-Kahlaa, al-Muayal and al-Musharah. It is composed of 500 personnel. Amara, the capital city of Missan province, lies 390 km south of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
