IHEC registers 10 violations in Diwaniya

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The Independent High Electoral Commission’s office in Diwaniya said on Thursday said that the commission registered 10 electoral violations against some candidates. “The commission imposed fines against the political blocs which violated the elections law,” Hassan al-Waeli told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The violations range from putting posters to raising banners in places which the law does not allow,” he added. The provincial council elections are scheduled to be held on January 31 in Iraq’s 18 provinces save Kirkuk and the three autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region provinces of Arbil, Sulaimaniya and Duhuk.   SH (P)/SR 2
