WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The Salvadorian troops withdrew from the Iraqi territories on Thursday after a ceremony attended by Iraqi and U.S. officials, a security source in Wassit said. “The Salvadorian troops, working within the Multi National Force in Delta base in western Kut, completed their withdrawal from Iraq on Thursday (Jan. 22),” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The ceremony was attended by the Wassit governor and representatives of the Iraqi government, as well as Iraqi and U.S. officials,” he added. El Salvador is the only Latin American country that joined the U.S.-led coalition force in Iraq in 2003. Salvadorian troops were stationing at the Iraqi city of Kut to carry out humanitarian missions. Salvadorian President Elias Antonio Saca said on Dec. 23 the country would end its military mission in Iraq.   SH (P)/SR     1
