Experiment of planting high-yielding potato in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: The agriculture department in Thi-Qar started an experiment to plant the hybrid Dutch potato in the province to improve the agricultural production, the director of the planning of the Thi-Qar agriculture department said on Friday. “We started today (Jan. 23) providing farmers of one ton of the high-yielding hybrid Dutch potato to plant it for the first time in the province,” Engineer Mahdi Saleh al-Zerkani told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The experiment aims to improve and increase the agricultural production in Thi-Qar,” he added.
