Key AQI member arrested in Baghdad- ministry

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The arrest of the so-called “sharia rulings official” of al-Qaeda in Iraq was made in Baghdad, the head of the National Command Center in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said on Saturday. “An Interior Ministry force arrested the second man in al-Qaeda organization, Ismail Abdelsattar al-Rubaie, in Baghdad,” Maj. Gen. Abdelkareem Khalaf said in an interview with al-Iraqiya TV. “Investigations are currently underway,” the official said, refusing to disclose the time of the arrest. Rubaie is also known as “the blind leader” and “the blind judge.” Earlier today, the semi-official channel said that Iraqi police forces have arrested the so-called “sharia rulings official” of the al-Qaeda in Iraq.
