Maliki urges S. Korean companies to invest in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Thursday urged South Korean companies to contribute to investment and reconstruction projects in the country. The premier received in his Baghdad-based office the South Korean ambassador to Iraq, Ha Chan-ho, who has ended his term in office, according to a statement released by Maliki’s office and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Iraqi government will provide all facilities for the companies to operate in the country,” the statement quoted Maliki as saying. “The Iraqi government is keen to boost its relations with South Korea in all fields,” Maliki said during his meeting with the envoy. Maliki visited South Korea and Japan in April 2007 as part of a one-week Asian tour that aimed to help with the rebuilding of Iraq. SS (P) 1
