URGENT / PM’s list garners 38% of votes in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) list garnered 38% of the votes in Baghdad, Iraq’s Independent Higher Electoral Commission said on Thursday. “Dawlat al-Qanoon obtained 38%, al-Ahrar (Liberals) bloc 9%, the Iraqi Accordance Front (IAF) 9%, the Iraqi National List (INL) 8.6%, the Iraqi National Project Grouping 6.9%, Shahid al-Mihrab 5.4%, al-Islah (Reform) bloc 4.3%, Mithal al-Alusi 1.6%, Fadhila (Virtue) Party 1.3%, Madaniyoon (Civilians) 1.2% and the National Reform Movement (NRM) 1.1%,” the IHEC said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency.
