MP denies terming winner lists in Ninewa as “inexperienced”

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Sunni lawmaker on Saturday denied he termed winner lists in Ninewa’s local elections as “inexperienced,” urging mass media that attributed the “false” statements to him to seek accuracy. “The report was false. I didn’t say during the Friday sermon that the Ninewa lists in the provincial council elections, namely al-Hadbaa bloc, that they are inexperienced,” Harith al-Obaidi, a member of the Iraqi Accord Front (IAF), told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The sermon in point was televised in full on the Baghdad satellite channel anyway,” he said. He called on the mass media to observe accuracy and honesty in what they quote from their sources. “The media people should carry the news in all honesty and neutrality,” he added. AmR (P) 1
