5 sports halls set up in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Construction work has begun on five sports halls in different parts of Thi-Qar province at a total cost of nearly $6.3 million U.S. dollars, according to an official source. “Work has begun on five multi-purpose sports halls as part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ projects for 2009,” the head of the sports and youth department in the province, Salem Khalohen, told IraqiNews.com news agency. The halls are located in the districts of al-Bathaa, Souk al-Shoyoukh, al-Jabayesh, al-Akika and al-Fajr. The estimated completion period of the project is 360 days, he added.
