4 al-Naqshabandiya group gunmen surrender in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Four gunmen believed to belong to the so-called al-Naqshabandiya group turned themselves in to the police forces in Kirkuk, a local police chief said on Monday. “They turned themselves in on Monday afternoon (Feb. 9) to the police forces,” Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that they are not the first from the same group who have done so. “A total of 14 gunmen from this group turned themselves in al-Dibs district and Mulla Abdullah, northwest of Kirkuk, last Wednesday (Feb. 4),” he explained. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Kirkuk is located 250 km north of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
