Kurdistan Parliament to increase women’s representation

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: During an extraordinary session on Wednesday, the Kurdistan Parliament decided to increase women’s quota to 30 percent, according to the Parliament’s speaker. “During the session, the name of the Kurdistan National Assembly (parliament) has been changed to Iraq’s Kurdistan Parliament…Women’s quota of seats has been increased from 25 percent to 30 percent,” Adnan al-Mufti told reporters following the session. “Other issues will be discussed during tomorrow’s session,” Mufti added.
