Al-Qaeda leader, wanted man detained in Babel

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi security forces on Friday arrested al-Qaeda leader and a wanted man during two separate incidents in north of Babel, a police source said. “Acting on a tip off, the forces raided the hideout of Omar Abdul Hadi, al-Qaeda leader, in al-Askandariya district in north of Hilla and arrested him,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The man is accused of being involved in murders and displacing operations in the region,” he also said. Meanwhile, the same source said that a security force launched a crackdown operation in Jarf al-Sakhr region in northwest of Hilla, where a wanted man was arrested. Hilla, the capital of Babel province, lies 100 km south of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
