MP rules out clash between Arabs, Kurds after U.S. withdrawal

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: MP from the Iraqi National List, Osama al-Nujaifi, on Monday, ruled out any clashes between Arabs and Kurds after the U.S. troop’s withdrawal. “I do not think there will be any clashes between the Arabs and Kurds. The Iraqi people have surpassed the stage of clashes and everyone started to value national unity,” al-Nujaifi told IraqiNews.com news agency. He ruled out any clashes after the U.S. troops withdraw from Iraq, noting that the presence of U.S. forces did not prevent clashes between Sunnis and Shiites in the past years. Kurdish Prime Minister Negervan Barzani had told the Associated Press (AP) on Sunday that the U.S. have to pressure Baghdad to solve the problems with Kurds, otherwise there is a possibility that a war may flare up with the Kurds. Al-Nujaifi considered that Barzani’s statements came within Kurdish politicians’ worry about their demands regarding some issues, including Kirkuk. SH (P)/SR 1
