4 killed, 36 wounded in Basra accident

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Four people were killed and 36 others were wounded when a bus collided with a vehicle of Multi National Forces (MNF) in Iraq, a source from the Basra police said on Wednesday. “The accident took place at 10 pm of Tuesday (Feb. 17) evening, at the highway, 20 km northwest of Basra,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The bus was carrying Shiite pilgrims who was returning from visiting holy Shiite places,” he said. The source explained that the vehicle was in a routine patrolling mission. He pointed out that the Iraqi police and MNF are currently investigating the accident. Earlier, MNF in southern Iraq said that at least seven civilians were killed and others were wounded in an accident in northwest of Basra. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
