Dawlat al-Qanoon, Shahid al-Mihrab lists share it fairly in Najaf

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) and Shahid al-Mihrab lists have shared the Najaf provincial council fairly as each obtained seven out of 28 seats, the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) said on Thursday. “The Independent al-Ahrar (Liberals) list got six seats, Wafaa for Najaf list got four, al-Islah (Reform) two and the Najaf Union list two seats,” said the IHEC in a press conference held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad to announce the final results of the provincial council elections, held on January 31, 2009.
