“Qualitative leap” in projects conducted last year- official

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A “qualitative leap” has been made in the projects carried out in Ninewa’s Hamdaniya district throughout the past year, according to a senior local official. “Hamdaniya’s municipal council, which comprises Arabs, Christians and Shabak, has conducted several construction projects that aim to improve the infrastructure of the area,” the head of the construction and municipalities committee in al-Hamdaniya municipal council, Louis Marqus, told IraqiNews.com news agency. A total of 15,162 square meters of roads has been paved with reinforced concrete, the official noted. “Six parks and side streets in the center of the district have been rehabilitated at a total cost of 1.863 billion Iraqi dinars (1 U.S. dollar= 1,118 Iraqi dinars),” he added. Hamdaniya is 30 km east of Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, which lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
