10 wanted men captured in military operation in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A joint Iraqi army and police force detained 10 wanted men during a military operation in different areas of Mosul city on Saturday, an Iraqi army source said. “A combined force from the army’s 6th Brigade, 2nd Division, and the national police launched a raid on Friday night and Saturday morning, capturing 10 wanted persons in different areas in western Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrests were part of operations that were launched by security agencies in Mosul on February 15 to track down gunmen of al-Qaeda network,” the source added. “The operation covered the western Mosul neighborhoods of al-Islah al-Ziraie, 17 Tammuz, Tal al-Rimman and al-Rifaie,” he said, not revealing further details about the operation. Earlier on Saturday, an Iraqi army source told IraqiNews.com that a force seized a large factory for home-making explosive charges inside a house in western Mosul. “The factory contained more than 50 improvised explosive devices, hundreds of weapons, four tons of TNT and chlorine and communication devices,” he said.
