4 wanted persons captured in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Policemen in Thi-Qar captured four wanted persons in two different areas of the province on Sunday, according to a release by the Thi-Qar police department. “Three persons wanted on criminal charges were arrested today (Feb. 22),” read the release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The fourth wanted man was captured based on intelligence tip-offs by the 6th Emergency Contingent in the district of al-Shatra, (40 km) north of al-Nassiriya city right after he returned from an Iraqi province,” the release added. “The wanted man has taken part with gunmen in attacks on a police station during the incidents that coincided with the security operation codenamed Saulat al-Forsan (Knights’ Assault) in early 2008,” it noted. Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
