Iraq’s political awareness up – OIC

Iraq-OIC BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The secretary general of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, on Monday lauded the recent elections held in Iraq, noting that political awareness in Iraq has reached a high-level. Speaking at a joint press conference with first deputy speaker of Iraq’s Parliament, Khaled al-Attiya, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said, “The constitutional process succeeded in the local elections.” The OIC ambassador in Baghdad had unveiled that the organization opened a headquarters in Baghdad on Monday (Feb. 23). For his part, al-Attiya welcomed the visit paid by Ihsanoglu to the parliament and said “we thank the OIC secretary general for his efforts within the national reconciliation.” SH (P)/SR   1
