PM orders to form agricultural sciences academy

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Monday ordered to form an academy for agricultural and water sciences with the participation of agriculture, environment and water resources ministries, according to a statement of the cabinet’s secretariat general. “This came during the ninth meeting of the high committee of the agricultural initiative,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The premier had launched the agricultural initiative last year and allocated $500 million for it. Its name was changed to the agricultural initiative of the Iraqi government and the same amount has been allocated for it despite the financial situations,” it said. SH (P)/SR 1
