Work begins on Missan’s al-Qitaa Bridge

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: A local company on Monday began construction works on al-Qitaa Bridge in Missan’s Amara city at a total cost of 19 billion Iraqi dinars (1 U.S. dollar = 1,118 Iraqi dinars). “The bridge, which spans the Tigris River, links southern Amara to its northern parts,” the director of the Planning Center in Missan, Engineer Zayd Khalaf Hawshi, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The estimated completion period of the project is 48 months,” Hawshi noted. The concrete bridge is 600 m long and 28 m wide, he added. Amara, the capital city of Missan province, lies 390 km south of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
