Cop arrested on armed robbery charges

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A policeman and a civilian have been arrested on robbery charges in northern Mosul city, an Iraqi army source said on Tuesday. “On Monday evening, a force from the Quick Intervention Corps (QIC) arrested a policeman and a civilian on armed robbery charges in al-Sukkar neighborhood, northern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrests were made after local residents had made reports of armed robbery,” the source added. “The policeman was found out to be a member of the emergency police, while the man was a taxi driver,” according to the source. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
