Parliament completes second reading of 2009 budget

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament on Tuesday adjourned its session until tomorrow after completing the second reading of the 2009 general budget draft law. First Deputy Speaker Sheikh Khaled al-Attiya adjourned the session, which witnessed discussions about the general budget of 2009, announcing that the vote on the budget will be next week. Iraq’s 2009 federal budget, totaling $62 billion U.S. dollars, has not been approved thus far. The budget is based on an oil price of $50 a barrel. SH (P)/SR 1
