Police detonate suspected car bomb

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Wednesday detonated a suspected car bomb in western Mosul city, according to a local police source. “On Wednesday, a car rigged with explosives driven by a suicide bomber was detonated by the police in Rabia district, western Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The operation was conducted in light of intelligence reports about the discovery of a car bomb in the area,” the source noted, adding that a police cordon was immediately put in place. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
