British foreign secretary arrives in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: British Foreign Secretary David Miliband arrived in Baghdad on Thursday in a surprise visit to the country to hold talks with senior Iraqi officials, a well-informed source said. “Miliband arrived in Baghdad on Thursday afternoon (Feb. 26) to have talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and a number of senior Iraqi officials on issues of mutual concern,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The source gave no further details. The visit coincides with the visit of Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to Baghdad, the first visit by a senior Kuwaiti official in 19 years.
