3 new power stations in Thi-Qar’s marshes

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Three step-down power sub-stations with three different capacities arrived in Thi-Qar province, according to the 2007 plan to develop marshes, a media source from the province’s electricity distribution directorate said on Saturday. “The three stations convert power from 33 KV to 11 KV,” Jamal Hatam al-Askari told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The biggest station has a capacity of 2 x 31.5 MVA, while each of the other two has a capacity of 2 x 16 MVA,” he said. Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 1
