Water purification station in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: A local company finalized the construction of a water purification station in central al-Amara city at a cost of 525 million Iraqi dinars ($450,000), according to an official from the Missan Water Department on Sunday. “The project, which took six months, falls within the 2008 appropriations for the development of ministries,” Mohammed Ali Hirrez told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The U.S.-made station has a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters/hour and has six sand filters with a capacity of 20 cubic meters/hour each, three green cotton filters and two high-pressure pumps at a capacity of 50 cubic meters/hour each,” said Hirrez.
