Deputy premier says Iraq needs Italian technology, experiences

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Burham Saleh said on Monday that the Iraqi institutions need the Italian experiences and technology, mainly in the field of agriculture, Saleh’s office said in a statement. “ Saleh received at his office in Baghdad on Monday (Marchh 2) Italian Minister if Economic Development, Claudio Scajola, and his accompanying delegation,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “ We look to Italy as a friend and a partner, and the Iraqi institutions need the Italian experiences and technology, mainly in the agriculture sector,” it added, noting that the government seeks to revive this sector by benefiting from the developed technology in the world, including the Italian one. The statement quoted the Italian minister as saying that his government supports the cooperation efforts with Iraq, asserting that Italy is one of the countries which have great contributions in rebuilding Iraq. The minister said that his accompanying delegation represents important and fundamental sectors in the Italian economy. SH (P)/SR 1
