Senior Sahwa member killed in Balad

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A senior Sahwa member was killed on Wednesday when a roadside bomb went off to the east of Balad suburb of Salah al-Din province, according to a police source. “The commander of Talal-Zahar village (3 km east of Balad) was killed today when the blast targeted his car at the road that links his village to Balad,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The victim’s son, daughter in law, and grandson were also killed in the attack,” he said. The source pointed out that this area is considered one of the major places in Iraq where al-Qaeda Organization functions.
