Political blocs meeting recommends reducing budget to ID 6.7 billion

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The political blocs meeting which was held on Thursday morning wrapped up with three recommendations, including reducing the 2009 general budget to 6.7 billion Iraqi dinars, according to a member of the parliament’s finance committee. “The meeting agreed on three agreements and will be presented to the Parliament to vote on them today (March 5), while the other two agreements are reducing the budget by 10 percent and the second reducing it by 75 percent,” MO Sami al-Atroushi told IraqiNews.com news agency. Iraq’s 2009 federal budget, totaling $62 billion U.S. dollars, is based on an oil price of $50 a barrel.   SH (P)/SR     1
