Police officer wounded in IED blast in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A police officer was wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near his patrol in southern Mosul on Saturday, a security source in Ninewa said. “The IED went off near the police patrol close to al-Mosul public hospital in Wadi Hajar, southern Mosul, leaving a police officer in the rank of lieutenant injured,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “He was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” the source added, not giving further details about the incident.
