2 Sahwa fighters killed in armed attack

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Two Sahwa fighters on Monday were killed in an armed attack against a checkpoint in western Baghdad, according to a police source. “Today, unknown gunmen attacked a checkpoint set up by Sahwa members in al-Jihad neighborhood, western Baghdad, killing two of them,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The gunmen fled to an unknown destination after the attack,” the source added. The Sahwa councils are anti-Qaeda fighters working in coordination with the Multi-National Force (MNF) and the Iraqi government.
