Al-Hashemi, SRSG discuss political developments in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi on Tuesday discussed with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Staffan de Mistura, the latest developments in Iraq and the U.N. role in the country, according to a statement released from al-Hashemi’s office. “ The vice president received de Mistura at his office in Baghdad Tuesday (March 10) and discussed with him the latest political developments in Iraq and the UN role in various domains,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “ The UN official lauded al-Hashemi’s efforts and his support to the Iraqi women’s issues,” it added.
