Gunmen arrested east of Falluja

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Forces from the al-Forsan police station arrested 11 suspected gunmen, including a leader of an armed group, east of Falluja on Friday, the station director said. “The forces stationed in the district of Karmat al-Falluja detained 11 suspected members of armed groups in the district’s villages based on intelligence tip-offs,” Col. Saad Abbas told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Initial investigations with the suspects revealed that one of them has confessed to be the leader of an armed group who is wanted for involvement in armed attacks on policemen and military personnel,” Abbas added. Falluja, the largest city of the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km west of Baghdad. Anbar’s capital, al-Ramadi, is 110 km west of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
