3 provincial blocs join alliance in Wassit

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi list in Wassit reached an agreement with Al-Ahrar Independent Movement (Sadrists) and Al-Distori (The Constitutional) Party to form an alliance between the three blocs that each won three seats in the recent provincial election this year on Jan. 31, the head of theIraqi list in Wassit said on Saturday. “The new entity derived from this alliance is called Iraq’s Bloc,” Ghadhanfar al-Shemmary told IraqiNews.com news agency. The alliance will occupy nine seats out of the 28 in Wassit’s provincial council. Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 2
