Spokesman: Baath rejected on political scene

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Baath party is categorically rejected in the Iraqi political sphere, given its association with “the destruction of Iraq and the region,” a spokesperson for the Iraqi government said on Saturday. All Iraqi citizens are against all forms of Baathist presence on the political scene, Ali al-Dabbagh told IraqiNews.com news agency. Iraqi Prime Minister had called on the Iraqi opposition to take part in the national reconciliation project, ruling out the possibility that the Baath Party could rejoin the political process.
