VP urges dealing with human rights issues in Iraqi, U.S. jails

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashimi on Saturday called for dealing with human rights issues inside Iraqi and U.S. jails, praising the efforts exerted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in this respect. “Hashimi stressed during his meeting with the ICRC chief Jacob Kellenberger the need to follow up human rights issues inside the jails that are under the control of the U.S. and Iraqi sides,” according to a release by Hashimi’s Iraqi Islamic Party (IPP) office as received by IraqiNews.com news agency.
