Terrorism financing convention “essential” to combat crime

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi government spokesperson on Tuesday described the cabinet’s approval of a draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism as an “essential tool” to combat local and internal crime. “The Iraqi cabinet has approved a draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and referred it to the Parliament in accordance with Articles 61/I and 80/II of the constitution,” Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency.
