College student killed in clashes with gunmen in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A female college student was killed on Thursday and one gunman wounded in clashes between police and unknown armed men, in northern Mosul city, said a source from Ninewa province’s police. “ The clashes took place in front of Mosul University’s campus, in the north of the city,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “ The armed confrontations occurred when police forces were able to identify a booby-trapped car driven by a number of individuals in Al-Majmoa Al-Thaqafiya neighborhood, near the University,” he said. “ Police forces tracked the gunmen after they left the car,” he added. “ Experts detonated the car without causing any casualties,” he noted.
