3 cops injured by IED

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Three police personnel on Tuesday were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in eastern Mosul city, according to an official security source. “An explosive charge placed inside a car belonging to a police officer from Falluja city went off in al-Shurta neighborhood, eastern Falluja, wounding three personnel,” Maj. Hamid Ahmed told IraqiNews.com news agency. Falluja was a scene of armed conflict between U.S. and Iraqi forces on the one hand and al-Qaeda gunmen on the other. Falluja lies 45 km west of Baghdad; while Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar province, lies 110 km west of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
