Detained official freed in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The director of the Ninewa governor’s office was released on Thursday after one year of detention, according to a security source. “Baghdad’s Criminal Court released Major Ahmad al-Jawari after investigations found him not guilty of involvement in any crime,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Security forces had arrested the man on May 15, 2008, during military operations in Mosul after he was accused of terrorism,” he said. “The forces arrested him from his house in al-Josaq region in central Mosul,” he added.
