Policeman killed, 4 wounded in armed attack in Samarra

SAMARRA / IraqiNews.com: A policeman was killed and four others wounded in an armed attack with incendiary bombs in eastern Samarra city on Sunday, a security source from the Samarra police department said. “Unidentified gunmen attacked a local police patrol with incendiary bombs in al-Jubayriya neighborhood, eastern Samarra, leaving one policeman killed and four others wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Samarra, a city in Salah al-Din province, lies 120 km north of Baghdad. “Policemen and Isnad (Support) tribal fighters searched for the culprits in the area where a state of emergency was announced,” the source added. “The incident is the first of its kind to target Iraqi forces in several months,” he said.
