Naqshabandiya member captured in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A joint force on Wednesday arrested a member of the Naqshabandiya group in southern Kirkuk city, according to a local police source. “A joint force from the Criminal Investigations Department and al-Urouba Police arrested an al-Naqshabandiya group member in al-Mamdouda neighborhood, southern Kirkuk,” Col. Shirzad Mofri told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The man is wanted by the security apparatus in accordance with Article IV of the Terrorism Law,” Mofri added. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen and Christians, lies 250 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
