VP, interior minister discuss security issues

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi and Interior Minister Jawad al-Bulani discussed security issues and the importance of constant reviews in light of the constitution and law, a statement by Hashemi’s office said. “Vice President Hashemi received Minister Bulani to tackle security conditions in the aftermath of recent criminal attacks in the capital Baghdad,” according to the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Baghdad and other Iraqi cities on Monday (April 6) had witnessed a series of bombing attacks that claimed the lives of dozens of civilians. Hashemi “praised the role of the security agencies and the armed forces for security improvements all over Iraqi provinces,” it added. Bulani, for his part, dwelt on the financial pressures facing his ministry as a result of state budget cuts this year, noted the statement. AmR (P) 1
