10 Sahwa checkpoints abandon positions in Babel

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army troops were obliged to replace Sahwa forces in 10 checkpoints in Babel, as the Sahwa fighters abandoned their points after not receiving their salaries, a media source from the province’s police said on Tuesday. “The checkpoints are in al-Iskandariya district, 50 km north of Hilla city,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A force from the Iraqi army 8th division replaced Sahwa forces at the checkpoints,” he added.
