Too early to talk about results of Iraqi-Russian relations- official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Russian president’s special envoy for Middle Eastern Affairs on Tuesday said that it is too early to talk about the results of relations between Moscow and Baghdad, describing Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki’s recent visit to the Russian capital as a “success,” according to the Russian Novosti news agency. “It is too early to talk about tangible results in Russian-Iraqi relations,” the news agency quoted Alexander Sultanov as saying. On Thursday (April 9), Maliki led a high-ranking delegation on a two-day visit to Moscow as part of a tour that also includes Paris and London. During the visit, the two sides agreed to take positive steps towards implementing agreements on oil and gas, electricity, infrastructure and education. SS (P) 1
