Ammar al-Hakeem meets speaker of Kurdish parliament

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: In the framework of his visit to Kurdistan Region, Head of Shaheed al-Mihrab Foundation Ammar al-Hakeem paid a visit to the headquarter of Kurdistan Region Parliament and was received by the Parliament’s Speaker Adnan Mufti, his deputy Kamal Kirkuki and a number of lawmakers on Wednesday, April 15. Kurdistan Region relations, the Iraqi political parties, the role of the Kurds in the political process and the latest developments in Iraq were the key issues of their talks. “Today, we met with Ammar al-Hakeem and held talks about Kurdistan Region relations with the Iraqi political parties and the Supreme Council,” Mufti said at a press conference after the meeting. On his part, al-Hakeem said “the visit is a good opportunity to meet our people here in Kurdistan, also to talk about our common concerns and the political situation in Iraq. This country cannot be ruled without dialogue, understanding and consultation because the Kurds are key constituent in Iraq.” Al-Hakim stressed that the problems and disputed areas issues should be solved through the constitution.
